Only Fools & Horses Star Gets Wife & Child Home to UK
Patrick Murray, better known as Mickey Pearce for his role in Only Fools & Horses, spent 7 years living in Thailand, latterly with his wife Mam and his 3 year old daughter Josie. He was disappointed to find out that he didn’t comply with Home Office spouse visa rules so returned to the UK to work so he could support his family in Thailand whilst preparing to make an application to the Home Office. After looking at various other routes, Pat was introduced to Peter Strickland at V4UK by a mutual friend.
Pat: “I was so pleased that I was introduced to Peter because he has offices in the UK and Thailand so he and his staff were able to liaise with my wife in Thailand as well as helping me in the UK to comply with my sponsorship requirements.
Joy in the Thai office accompanied Mam to Bangkok for her English & TB tests (she even minded Josie whilst Mam took the test!) She also accompanied Mam to Bangkok to submit the application.
I am also grateful to my friend, Brian Jacks, MBE Olympic Judo Medallist and his wife Lek. Peter went to see them on my behalf at their View Dee Apartments to pick up their letter of support for UKVI.
Peter also kindly visited my friend Bruce Budden and his wife Saranya at their business, Welcome Inn, to collect their letter of support.
Thanks guys for all your help.
Peter & Karen in the UK office helped me sort through my paperwork and recommended accountants who could get my financials prepared in a way that complied with the Home Office requirements.
With all the effort that everyone put in, we were all very nervous for the next few weeks whilst awaiting the outcome. Peter seemed to be quietly confident and when the visa arrived last week, we were all elated, I was soon back in Thailand for a few days to collect Mam and Josie and we all arrived in the UK on 23rd March 2018, they saw their first snow and it cost me a fortune in winter coats!!
Thanks V4UK we will see you again in 30 months to help us with our further leave to remain application.
Best Wishes – Pat, Mam & Josie”
